Item 08A <br />December 27, 2022 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br /> <br />01/18/2022 <br />Curbside Waste was notified that within the past week or two the City received two <br />complaints who were irate over the behaviors of the independent contractors of Curbside. <br />They did obtain a permit to solicit in Mounds View. However, one violated a “No Soliciting” <br />sign that was in plain view. The other told a lie telling the homeowner that Walter’s, their <br />hauler, was going out of business. This particular homeowner called the City wanting <br />Curbside to be held accountable. Just to keep in mind, these were independent <br />contractors of Curbside to assist with their marketing. <br /> <br />09/2022 <br />A resident of Mounds View called the City to complain that Curbside was picking up trash <br />at 6:23 a.m. The owner, Chad Master, was notified by email and responded. Mounds <br />View’s ordinance indicates no excessive noise between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. <br /> <br />10/20/2022 <br />A resident of Mounds View called the City to complain that Curbside was picking up trash <br />at 6:16 a.m. <br /> <br />11/03/2022 <br />A resident of Mounds View called the City to complain that Curbside was picking up trash <br />at 6:13 a.m. <br /> <br />11/25/2022 <br />A resident of Mounds View called the City to complain that Curbside was picking up trash <br />at 6:12 a.m. This particular resident had placed his container out at 6:50 a.m. but it was <br />missed because of the early pickup which Curbside later acknowledged. <br /> <br />12/01/2022 <br />A resident of Mounds View called the City to complain that Curbside was picking up trash <br />at 6:21 a.m. (Photo with date and time stamped provided by homeowner). The owner of <br />Curbside, Chad Masters, was sent an email by Staff advising him of the numerous <br />complaints regarding pickup before 7:00 a.m. We asked him at that time to take action <br />immediately and provide us with assurances that he would. Mr. Masters replied that he <br />would again reach out to the driver and make sure he doesn’t start before 7:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal <br /> <br />Our licensing ordinance and its requirements along with the renewal applications listed <br />relate to our Vision Statement; “…welcoming a desirable destination to all ages and <br />cultures…and a place where residents can live, work and play safely” and by approving <br />the license renewals the City will “….maintain a positive business climate where <br />businesses want to locate and remain in Mounds View”. <br /> <br /> <br />
