The property is about maxed <br />out (Wall signage = 86.3 sq ft, of 100 sq ft permitted), leading to discussions with <br />Councilmembers about amending the Code. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />Sign regulations are complex. Signs are categorized based on type, e.g. monument, billboard, <br />ground, wall, dynamic, temporary, etc. Signs are regulated based on zoning district, sign type, <br />setbacks, height, and sign area. The Sign code was last amended 1 in March 2022 regarding <br />dynamic (animated) drive-thru menu boards. <br /> <br /> The Bear Lot, 2375 Mounds View Blvd (Jan 31, 2023) <br /> Proposed 215 sq ft wall signage (“the bear lot). + bear (wall signage). <br />The “Bear” on the roof is part of a Wall Sign, to be included in signage calculations.2 <br /> <br />1 Ordinance 988 <br />2 City Code §161.040(C) (Prohibited Signs); Roof signs, unless integrally incorporated into the roof design, then the <br />sign shall be considered a wall sign
