CALL TO ORDER at 6:37 PM: <br />2. ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Arel, Curry, Kroeger, Palm, Rundle, Sullivan, Zaiger <br /> Staff: Peterson | YMCA: Thomas <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Palm, 2nd by Kroeger. Motion passed 4-0. <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />April 23, 2020: Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Zaiger. Motion Passed roll call vote 4-0. <br />June 25, 2020: Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Arel. Motion Passed roll call vote 4-0. <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full <br />name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present. <br />6. Special Order of Business <br />A. Introduction: Dan Wattenhoffer – City Public Works Arborist/Park Maintenance Worker. <br />**Commissioner Rundle joining via telephone audio and later video. <br />7. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. YMCA: See attached report. Opening MVCC with limited capacity on August 3rd. Event <br />Center and Park Building rentals available with limited capacity. Some MVCC staff returning <br />July 20 along with some part time employees on Aug 3. <br />B. Public Works. See attached report. <br />8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Park brochure – review / updates <br />B. City Hall Park - T –Ball field: MVCC says there is a need for t-ball field for their <br />programming and to free up other fields for older ages and other team rentals (IBL). <br />Prefer t-ball field in northeast corner. Direct Staff to bring back cost estimate for fencing. <br />C. Random Park – Playground Rehabilitation Plan: Plan proposed up to age 12 for a cost of <br />$57,866 plus $22,133 installation. Discussion of closing Woodcrest playground due to <br />distance to Silverview, and investing in Random. Bring some elements from City Hall to <br />Random, and change Random to a younger age group, maybe similar to what is at <br />Oakwood, or look at what we can refurbish like we did with Groveland. Direct Staff to <br />bring some playground elements and options with costs. **Commissioner Sullivan <br />joined via voice. <br />D. Greenfield Park – Ball field layout and picnic shelters: can fit two 20’ shelters at a cost of <br />$14,714 plus installation of $16,217 each. This would include four 8’ square tables. <br />Consider contacting the Wisser family for funds. Put in Park Improvement Plan to <br />consider budget for 2021. Consider elevation for drainage on ball field and perhaps add <br />aglime behind home plate. Need to look at Park Dedication Funds for all off these <br />park improvements (B-E).
