Valerie Amundsen - Curt Lyons - You nailed it on the head Curt. You are absolutely right. There were some who signed the petition, who had not yet decided if they would vote for the
increasing taxing level or not, but they DID agree that it should be the voters who decided the issue, so signed the petition.

Mathew William - Seemed to me that in the last city council meeting, that was held specifically for you, that there was an attorney on there that’s as okay with dismissing the petition.
So, by you saying it was up to only the city council and no one else, they were doing it on recommendation from I believe the county attorney.

Valerie Amundsen - Matthew William - The City Attorney Riggs (not a county attorney) was at the Feb. 18th meeting, true. The Council was given options in their packet - they could have
accepted the petition. It is the council ultimately that is the decider, not the attorney. This attorney has been found wrong (in court with MV cases) in the past, he is not infallible.

Mathew William - Valerie Amundsen that’s correct, no one is perfect or infallible. I think a lot of people seem to forget that lately.

Kristina Hanson – Mathew William interesting comment. Attorney’s shouldn’t be found wrong in court with our city and the response to be “no one is perfect or infallible I find that
to be a strange response. You’ve commented on every single post surrounding this issue so I am really curious what issue you have with this going to the voters of MV is exactly?

Mathew William – Kristina Hanson I just don’t think it needs to be. Personally I think it’s a one person quest if misinformation because someone didn’t get what they want. Just because
I don’t agree, I’m not allowed to voice my opinion as well?

Kristina Hanson - Matthew William Clearly it isn’t one persons quest of misinformation when you have all these people on just this one thread who are upset and they would not have been
able to collect the signatures needed. Of course you are allowed to voice your opinion and I care what your opinion is I was just curious what reasons you had as I haven’t heard them
specifically.

Mathew William - Kristina Hanson when it’s worded the way it is, of course people are going to be upset. The fact of the matter is, no taxes have been raised currently. The restrictions
needed to be move to afford vital city resources, and I support that. The charter commission agreed, as did the city council. The only reason this became an issue is because one person
on the charter commission didn’t get their way and decided to make a scene about it. It is what it is, but it’s done and over with now. Time to move on and everyone should make their
vote count during elections.

Valerie Amundsen - Matthew William - Not sure what one person you are talking about Matthew. Assuming you think it was my husband, who does serve on the Charter Commission. This was
not him spearheading this, it was me all the way... but he supported my desire to see if the community would support this petition, and they DID - overwhelmingly so. No body has been
making a scene, just exercising our rights, under the Statutes of Minnesota. There is nothing wrong with that.

Mathew William - Valerie Amundsen screaming at a city council meeting that justice must be served is kind of making a scene
