Cameron Obert – Why do you think a rise in property taxes is a bad thing?
Valerie Amundsen - Cameron Obert - MN Statutes give the citizens in a Charter City the right to petition that an Ordinance passed by the Council be brought to a vote of the people.
That is all this petition was aiming to do, bring the decision back to the people. The citizens put the language in our City Charter in 2006, and wanted the chance to vote on it.
It would have been up to the city to make their case to the people of MV, and let the people decide.

Cameron Obert – Valerie Amundsen I favor a city manager form of government over a charter ruled city.

Dan Lindberg – Cameron Obert Because the property taxes are already too high, they should be lowered, not raised. For the past 4 years, each year the tax increased to new record levels.
Spending must be reduced.

Gary Engen – Dan Lindberg, what services do you want to eliminate?

Dan Lindberg – Gary Engen - I would reduce staff by attrition, I would reduce sidewalks, I would reduce officers by the 3 that are there by the 2 levies which take them out of the City
levy. And I would have never built that splash pad, way too much $$ or the little use it gets. And I'm sure there are other things that could be cut.

Gary Engen - Dan Lindberg whenever I visit a city, state, or country that has beautiful public spaces that are well maintained and safe, I take time to appreciate the leadership, investment,
and public support it took to create them. My hope is that Mounds View continues to invest in public safety, public works, parks and recreation, and other efforts that make us want
to get out into our neighborhoods and enjoy living here

Chad Lorence - Dan Lindberg that's a fantastic way to drive a city in to the ground! You need sidewalks for people to walk on (especially on busier roads) and get exercise, entertainment
such as parks and in this case a splash pad (it has already been built), maintained infrastructure, as well as maintained roads. I'm sure there could be some things or areas cut
back a bit however, would require a bit deeper research and understanding than just stating things that are not a personal interest.

Dan Lindberg - This City is already being "driven into the ground", it is no longer the same place to live that it used to be, and not for the better. As for taxes, for those of us
who are retired, it's literally getting to be a choice between taxes and groceries, I prefer groceries to amenities that the City tries to provide.

Anthony Nicols – Valerie, I take my hat off to you.
TIME FOR A RECALL!!!
Why would they want to pay more property tax on their own homes!? What is it with the obsession of taxing!!?
