I support being fiscally conservative, while also investing in our community to make it a safe and enjoyable place to live.

It's the city's job to engage the public, gather feedback and convince us why this was needed. They were afraid this vote would fail! And did everything they could to prevent that from
happening.

All other cities around us have a paper or news outlet that would have covered these meetings. I would argue it is next to impossible to keep abreast with what is going on in our city.
There is no outreach or engagement, besides an open invitation to city council meetings. We need to change this dynamic and bring about accountability.
Dan Lindberg - All - while I often complain about our high taxes (which we do have) and I often disagree with decisions that are made by our current Council - I also disagree with the
above comments about the Council and their intentions. I KNOW that all 5 make decisions and cast votes that they believe are in the best interest of the residents of Mounds View....
Dan

Joe Ihrig - Let's lower the taxes when the price of everything is increased... then we can complain about how much the city doesn't do... sound so familiar right wing to me.

JJ Strait – Time to vote.

Mathew William - I’d like to explore options of disbanding the city charter. We don’t need it and we are only one of two cities in the entire state with a levy limit. This levy limit
now cost us an additional $13,000 apparently.

Valerie Amundsen – Mathew William – the city spends a ton of money annually on attorney fees, regardless of the charter.

Mathew William – Valerie Amundsen – okay but they could have spent $13,000 less.

Valerie Amundsen – Mathew William – it was their decision they could have let the residents vote.

Mathew William – Valerie Amundsen isn’t that why the Charter Commission is in place, so the residents don’t have to vote on every little thing?

Gary Engen – Matthew William it is definitely the reason the council is in place. We elected them to represent us and make those decisions.

Mathew William – we elected city council, I’m talking about the charter which is appointed by the county, if we don’t let them do their job, why do we need them? Simple answer is we
don’t.

Cameron Obert - Valerie Amundsen the charter for Mounds View is in place to take the power away from the elected officials and administration. The charter says most everything detail
the management of city government will be scrutinized and voted on "by the people". A very stupid idea put in place by some very small minded people when Mounds View went from being
a village to an incorporated city.

Mathew William – Cameron Obert – what?
