AMUNDSEN: Your Honor, thank you for having
this hearing and giving me the opportunity to speak
to the Court and to those citizens who are here
today asking -- the city is asking you to remove me
from my appointment as a charter commission member.
I would ask you to deny this request at the outset.
I covered that in my amendment -- or my answer.
First, let me tell you a little about myself.
I am 64 years old. I've lived in Mounds View for 40
years. I bought my grandmother's back property and
built my home, raised my four children and now have
eight grandchildren. I know you're not interested
in the history, but I do want to mention that I've
always been a volunteer. I was elected to the
school board in the '90s. I do volunteer at my
church, and I serve on the board down at Sharing &
Caring Hands. I was Cub master in the City of
Mounds View for many years, and I'm currently
functioning as an election judge for Ramsey County
and have done that for 15 years as well as serving
on the charter commission. My first appointment was
in 2002, and I left after that appointment for
cancer treatment. I did reapply.
