AMUNDSEN: I was there from 2002 to 2006. <br />THE COURT: Okay. <br />MR. AMUNDSEN: I left the charter commission <br />and rejoined in 2009 filling a time slot that <br />only -- that appointment was only three years rather <br />than the normal four. <br />Partly due to my engineering background, I do <br />tend to have an analytic way of looking at topics, <br />and I go into depth on topics researching and <br />looking for situations outside of commission <br />meetings so that I can see it from multiple sides. <br />I do place a high value on dialogue and discussion <br />amongst members and, as the chair, often encourage <br />people to participate in the conversation by asking <br />them their opinions. <br />THE COURT: When were you the chair? <br />MR. AMUNDSEN: I was the chair from -- I was <br />the chair during this current appointment, your <br />Honor, which started in 2016. I was the chair at <br />that time, and I was re-elected as secretary in <br />January of this year. <br />I don't believe that disagreeing with others is <br />a sign of disrespect to that individual. It is <br />simply having a disagreement on an opinion about a <br />
