But you were involved in the <br />recruitment to try to get a full nine -member commission? <br />A That is correct. <br />Q You also were -- the council has also requested <br />that -- well, what has the council requested you to do <br />relative to the language of the charter? Have they given <br />you directions regarding that or to ask the commission <br />for certain policy changes or anything along those lines? <br />A I've received no directive from the council on <br />specific lanquage. There's a consensus by the council to <br />have the commission -- I want to make sure I phrase this <br />accurately. There's clear direction consensus from the <br />council to make the charter easier to read. The word <br />"simple" is used, that it's a very difficult charter to <br />read. Our residents can't understand it, that there has <br />to be a different way and better way of making that <br />charter much more readable and much simpler. <br />Q In your attendance at the charter commission <br />
