M0U__N_DtS_iEw <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />Item No: 5C <br />Meeting Date: March 27, 2023 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />Administrator Review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resource Director <br />Subject: Resolution 9725, Authorize Recruitment Process for Parks and <br />Recreation Facility Coordinator Position and Approve Job Description <br />Background: <br />In October 2020, Council recommended approval of the City operating a Parks and Recreation <br />Department. Since that time, staff has been building a team of employees to manage the facility and <br />provide guest services. <br />Discussion: <br />To assist the Event Center Manager and respond to event center inquiries during evening and weekend <br />hours, staff created the Facility Coordinator position which will provide afternoon and evening coverage <br />from Wednesday through Saturday evenings. They will assist with responsibilities associated with the <br />facility during banquets, parties, weddings, etc. Provide information to guests, and allow the Event Center <br />Manager an opportunity to take time away from work, and keep the Event Center operational. The Facility <br />Coordinator will provide training to part-time staff, and clean during events, and ensure cleaning is <br />underway at the conclusion of events. <br />The job description has been created and scored. This is a full-time non-exempt position and will report <br />directly to the Parks and Recreation Superintendent. The HR Committee has reviewed and agrees <br />posting of the position is appropriate.
