Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Agenda <br />September 22, 2005 <br />6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />1. Roll Call <br /> <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from the August 25, 2005 meeting <br /> <br /> <br />3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Park and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners on issues of concern. <br /> <br />4. YMCA Advisory Committee Update – The Committee met on September 6, 2005. Items discussed included: <br />City Hall Relocation Plan <br />Temporary Part-time Help during City Hall Project <br />Community Center Building Security <br />Showing of the Banquette Center to potential renters <br />RecWare Update <br />Other Use and Maintenance Issues <br /> <br />5. Unfinished Business: <br /> <br />Groveland Park Building Replacement – <br /> <br />Random Park Building / Golf Course Building – <br />Steve is contacting building contractors to get cost estimates to remove the Random Park building, construct a foundation for the golf course building, and set up the golf course building <br /> on the Random site. The City recently received three more quotes for moving the Golf Course Clubhouse. The original quote was $45,000. The three additional quotes were: $28,500, $32,000, <br /> & $96,000. Quotes did not include tree trimming, power lines work, or intersection help/removal. <br /> <br />Oakwood Park Renovation Project <br />Then next steps are as follows: <br />Develop a layout for the plan. (To be presented at the October Meeting) <br />Develop a cost estimate for the individual items in the plan. <br />Conduct an open house for the neighborhood to get their input. <br />Bring the proposal to the City Council with the Commissioners recommendation and neighborhood input. <br />The Parks Supervisor is working with the engineering technician to have the plans overlaid onto an air photo (including proposed field, fences, new trees, picnic tables, benches, tot-lot…). <br /> The City Forester will also be consulted to develop a tree-planting plan. Finally a line item cost estimate will be developed. It is anticipated that this plan will be presented to <br /> the Commissioners at the October Meeting. <br /> <br />County Road 10 Corridor Improvement Program – The Design Theme Subcommittee last met on July 20, 2005. The City’s engineering consultant provided the City Council a project status update <br />
