The City Council wanted more
information. Specifically, the City Council wanted to know how much it would cost to create plans
and specifications for a “stick” constructed building. TKDA (Rich Grey) stated that it would be
approximately $8,000-$9,000 to re-do the plans and specifications and re-bid the project. At the
October 10, 2005 City Council meeting, the contactor who will be building an office building in
between Walgreen’s and The Community Center stated that he would bid approximately $230,000
to build the Groveland building (the previous low bid was $289,700).

b) Random Park Building / Golf Course Building –
This too was presented to the City Council on October 3, 2005. The City Council wanted to pursue
this possibility. On October 13, 2005 Staff met with the firm of Bonrestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and
Associates (BRAA) to review the Clubhouse, the Random building site, and to discuss the City
needs in determining. BRAA will be submitting a letter proposal to the City prior to Thursday,
October 27, 2005.

c) Oakwood Park Renovation Project – Currently On Hold
Then next steps are as follows:
1.) Develop a layout for the plan.
2.) Develop a cost estimate for the individual items in the plan.
3.) Conduct an open house for the neighborhood to get their input.
4.) Bring the proposal to the City Council with the Commissioners recommendation
and neighborhood input.
The Parks Supervisor is working with the engineering technician to have the plans overlaid onto an
air photo (including proposed field, fences, new trees, picnic tables, benches, tot-lot…). The City
Forester will also be consulted to develop a tree-planting plan. Finally a line item cost estimate will
be developed. It is anticipated that this plan will be presented to the Commissioners at the October
Meeting.
