d) County Road 10 Corridor Improvement Program – Currently On Hold
The City’s engineering consultant provided the City Council a project status update at the
September 6, 2005 City Work Session. The City has applied for a grant for construction of a 10’
wide bituminous trailway on the north side of County Road 10 from County Road H to Silver Lake
Road. The estimated project cost is $625,000. If successful, grant funds ($500,00) would be
allocated in 2009/2010 -perhaps sooner under special conditions. The Park and Recreation
Commission would also be given the charge of reviewing and overseeing and design of the
trailway, landscaping, and lighting. The City will know by late December / early January if we were
successful in securing a grant for the trailway. If successful, Staff recommends that a neighborhood
meeting be conducted to present the project and to obtain input for the Commissioners to consider.
The Theme Committee would also reconvene at that time.

e) Groveland Park Field – Currently On Hold
Striping it was put on hold until next spring. Staff will contact adjacent property owner.

f) Unfinished Business Currently On Hold:
Facility Guide Update –
The Commissioners have recommended to delay the printing of the Facility Guide to late
fall of this year. At that time there will be more information pertaining to the Groveland
Building and the Medtronic proposal to develop the golf course property.

6. New Business:

a) City Property East of Sysco – Staff walked the site on September 19, 2005. It appears likely that nearly
this entire site is wetland. Any development of this site may be difficult. A citizen’s group challenged
the sale of the golf course. All associated activities have been placed on hold until a ruling from the
court was received. This occurred on Friday, October 21, 2005 in favor of the City Council’s decision
to sell the golf course. Staff will request authorization to seek assistance in determining the feasibility
of developing this site.

b) Trailway Program – Review Trailway Comprehensive Plan (depending on the time, the Commissioners
may want to start this discussion at the November meeting)

c) Any Other Items?

7. Commissioner/Staff Reports:

a) Storm Damage Reports – The storm damage activities were completed on October 11, 2005. There will
be some minor tree removal and clean up activities occurring in Silver View Park over the next several
months. The total cost of the clean up is estimated to be $95,000.

b) Any Other Reports?

8. Request for future agenda items/other business
th
Possible Items for November 17 Agenda (Please note that the meeting was moved in observance
of the Thanksgiving holiday)
