Call Canyon Grill for banquette information – Not the <br />YMCA <br /> RecWare Update <br /> This new “on-line” system is up and running. <br /> How to pay? – With a credit card <br /> Can still sign up in person. <br /> Other Use and Maintenance Issues <br /> Fall programming is underway. <br /> Mini Mites Soccer has started <br /> The Commission suggested that the YMCA look for <br />volunteers through the schools by giving them a list of <br />needs. (i.e. coaching...) <br /> YMCA runs back ground checks on all employees – <br />including volunteers. <br /> <br />Chairman Kroeger read the tree / brush removal brochure - a brochure instructing <br />residents on what they should do with their brush from Wednesday night’s storm. <br /> <br />5. Unfinished Business: <br /> <br />a) Groveland Park Building Replacement. – <br /> Staff has contacted TKDA – There are no real “extras” on this <br />building. <br /> TKDA also stated that the materials are the middle of the road. <br /> 2 OPTIONS: 1.) Re-bid the project with a longer construction period <br />2.) Consider the Golf Course Clubhouse. <br /> Commissioner Kunza recommended looking into creating one unisex <br />bathroom and presented a possible floor plan to consider. <br /> There is double door to the mechanical room. Needed? Is there a <br />savings to reduce to one door? <br /> In comparison to New Brighton’s buildings – this building does not <br />have a fireplace, knotty pine walls and ceiling, dividers, very nice <br />restrooms… <br /> The City Council sent this issue back to the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission. The Parks and Recreation Commission discussed <br />volunteers, vocational college/tech construction options, reducing <br />items, reducing quality/durability of items. <br /> Look at presenting this project differently. Present that $19,600 has <br />been spent. Present that in a do nothing option that there would still be <br />a demolition cost – these are “fixed” costs regardless of what happens. <br /> The recommended to relocate the clubhouse to Random park was <br />unanimously recommended by the Commissioners at last month’s <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> A motion was made to direct staff to bring this issue back to the <br />City Council with a summary of the options that were reviewed, <br />discussed, and investigated by the Commission.
