<br />b) Golf Course Closing <br /> With the closing of the golf course there is an opportunity to <br />reserve equipment to be used in parks. <br /> A list of items that could be used in parks was made. <br /> Discussion was mainly focused on golf cart and lights to illuminate <br />a ball field in Silver View Park. <br /> Are the golf carts street legal? <br /> Can the lights be used somewhere else? <br /> The cost to set up the lights is estimated to be $40,000. <br /> <br /> A motion was made to recommend to remove driving range lights <br />(for the lighting of S.V. ball field) with transformer from the list of <br />golf course item to retain for Parks and reduce the number of golf <br />carts from 4 to 2 <br />Motion made by: Palm <br />nd <br /> 2: Kunz <br />Motion passed on a 4 to 1 vote <br /> <br /> A motion was made to retain the lights and look at the potential of <br />using them at Silver View Park or other locations. <br />Motion made by: Aukee <br />nd <br /> 2: None <br />Motion fail for lack of a second <br /> <br /> <br />c) Trailway Program <br /> Tabled for a future meeting <br /> When do you go from existing trail to completed trail on the map? <br /> <br />d) Relocation of meetings to New Brighton City Hall - 803 Old Highway 8 <br /> This was announced <br /> <br />e) Meeting Times and Dates <br /> It was requested by Commissioners Aukee to look into the <br />feasibility and benefit of changing all Park and Recreation <br />meetings to be prior to a Council meeting. <br /> The problem was more with the urgency in which project were <br />conducted – case in point was the Commission did not get a chance <br />to review or discus the bid result for the Groveland building before <br />they went to Council. <br /> Future projects will be planned with additional time to allow for <br />Commission review and discussion before submittal to Council. <br /> <br />f) Review Parks Needs Analysis <br /> Shari Kunza transferred the Parks Needs Analysis data to a <br />spreadsheet <br /> 5 <br /> <br />
