Road, and Silver Lake Road. These intersections had the highest
benefit-to-cost ratio.
These were for funds related to safety improvements. The City can
add other items as they choose (such as curb and gutter at
intersections). However, other funding sources would need to be
identified. This is true with improvement for other intersections.
The City has applied for a grant for construction of a 10’ wide
bituminous trailway on the north side of County Road 10 from
County Road H to Silver Lake Road. The estimated project cost is
$625,000. If successful, grant funds ($500,00) would be allocated
in 2009/2010 -perhaps sooner under special conditions.
The Park and Recreation Commission would also be given the
charge of reviewing and overseeing and design of the trailway,
landscaping, and lighting.
There was discussion as to if the south side of County Road could
be selected.

e) Groveland Park Field – creating an athletic field in the northwest corner of
Groveland Park.
The YMCA does not have any activities that can be programmed
at this site this year. Therefore the City will be holding off on
striping it.
The Parks Supervisor will contact adjacent property owners
regarding this proposal.

f) Unfinished Business Currently On Hold:
Facility Guide Update – to remain on hold

6. New Business:

a) City Property East of Sysco –
Staff walked the site on September 19, 2005. It appears likely that
nearly this entire site is wetland. Any development of this site may
be difficult.
There were questions pertaining to the Sysco expansion proposal

A motion was made to direct staff to bring a proposal to the City
Council to award a contract to RLK to investigate the property
determine the feasibility of developing park amenities on this site.
Motion made by: Aukee
nd
2: Palm
Motion passed unanimously

4
