City of Mounds View Comprehensive Plan <br /> Industrial <br /> Goal 1 : Industrial development shall be considered in order to provide a broad <br /> tax base and an expanded employment base within Mounds View. <br /> Policies: <br /> a. Continue to maintain and expand the City's industrial and commercial tax base. <br /> b. Cooperate with industrial developers to ensure that industrial development is a community <br /> asset and meets the standards established by the City. <br /> c. Investigate alternative incentives to attract new desired industries to Mounds View. <br /> d. Identify industrial activities complementary to existing activities and promote and facilitate <br /> the development of such industries in Mounds View. <br /> Goal 2: Ensure that industrial development is compatible with adjacent land uses <br /> and is accommodated without destroying desirable environmental <br /> features and natural amenities. <br /> Policies: <br /> a. Industrial development must adequately provide for storm water drainage. <br /> b. Introduce buffering to better protect adjacent residential neighborhoods. <br /> c. Give due consideration to all potential physical implications and services and facility <br /> demands(i.e.traffic generation,sewer and water demands,etc.)when considering industrial <br /> development. <br /> d. Develop and use performance standards to judge industrial proposals. <br /> e. Industrial uses shall be consolidated in compact and functional districts. <br /> f. Industrial uses shall be located within easy access of arterial streets to minimize impact <br /> on local streets. <br /> g. Industrial development on wetlands, flood plains, shore land, and other natural features <br /> that perform important public protection functions in their natural state shall be restricted. <br /> 29 <br />
