Special provisions for pedestrian and bicycle access and circulation shall be planned in areas <br /> adjoining schools, parks, churches, service centers, industrial centers, and commercial <br /> centers. <br /> f. Provide facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists in conjunction with street improvement <br /> projects when economically feasible and desirable by the community. <br /> g. Establish a signage standard for trail use that minimizes potential conflicts among users. <br /> h. Encourage the development of secure bicycle parking opportunities at existing and future <br /> commercial and industrial developments. <br /> i. Promote environmental and ecological consideration in the development of the trail way <br /> system. <br /> Goal 6: Coordinate all City transportation planning with County, Metropolitan <br /> Council, State, Federal, the North Metro I 35W Corridor Coalition, and <br /> other local transportation plans. <br /> Policies: <br /> a. Maintain and improve the existing line of communication with county and state highway <br /> officials in order to ensure that planned improvements are consistent with the goals and <br /> objectives of the community. <br /> b. The City will consider the use of its resources to assist in the resolution of metropolitan <br /> transportation problems. Participate in and help implement the transportation objectives of <br /> the North Metro I 35W Corridor Coalition. <br /> c. Coordinate pathway system with Ramsey County,Anoka County,and adjacent communities. <br /> Goal 7: All elements of the street system shall be planned, improved, and <br /> maintained according to the most appropriate standards, giving due <br /> consideration to both land use and transportation goals and policies. <br /> Policies: <br /> a.
