Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Agenda <br />December 15, 2005 <br />6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />1. Roll Call <br /> <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from the November 17, 2005 meeting - Not available. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Park and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners on issues of concern. <br /> <br /> <br />4. YMCA Advisory Committee Update <br /> <br /> <br />5. Unfinished Business: <br /> <br />Groveland Park Building Replacement – <br />Are there any additional points the Commissioners want to make before this is brought back to the City Council on January 9, 2006 with a recommendation to re-bid this project in an effort <br /> to obtain more favorable bids? <br />Current Points: <br />Changing the specifications to give the contractor the entire 2006 construction season to complete the project would do this. <br />There would also be an advertisement campaign to reach the smaller contractors who typically do not bid on public contracts. <br />Possible items to address: <br />Prefabricated versus standard construction <br />Volunteer groups versus contractor <br /> <br />Random Park Building / Golf Course Building – <br />On December 12th, the City Council approve moving ahead with this project by approving a resolution to award a contract for demolition of the existing Random Park building and ordering <br /> a project which replaces this building with the former Golf Course Building. <br /> <br />Review Clubhouse interior floor plan – recommend any changes <br /> <br />Oakwood Park Renovation Project – Currently On Hold <br />The draft plan along with a line item list of proposed items and their associated costs would be presented at the January Commission Meeting. A tentative schedule is as follows: <br />Park and Recreation Commission reviews/ comments on plan January 26, 2006 <br />Plan presented to the City Council at a Work Session February 6, 2006 <br />Plan presented at a neighborhood meeting Mid/Late February 2006 <br />City Council approves plan and order project March 13, 2006 <br />Work Begins Late March
