County Road 10 Corridor Improvement Program – Currently On Hold
The City has applied for a grant for construction of a 10’ wide bituminous trailway on the north side of County Road 10 from County Road H to Silver Lake Road. The estimated project
cost is $625,000. If successful, grant funds ($500,00) would be allocated in 2009/2010 -perhaps sooner under special conditions. As it stands now, we rank 13th out of 55 applications.
Based on this, it appears that we may have just missed the cutoff for receiving a federal grant.

Groveland Park Field – Currently On Hold
Striping it was put on hold until next spring. Staff will contact adjacent property owner.

Facility Guide Update – The Commissioners have requested to review the current draft.

City Property East of Sysco – Staff walked the site on September 19, 2005. It appears likely that nearly this entire site is wetland. Any development of this site may be difficult. Staff
has contacted the firm of RLK to seek assistance in determining the feasibility of developing this site. RLK refused to provide this assistance, since it constituted a conflict of interest
since both Medtronic and Sysco hired them for their site development plans. The firm of BRAA will be providing a letter report pertaining to the feasibility of developing this site.
A draft of this report will be presented to the Park and Recreation Commission on January 26, 2006.

6. New Business:

Approve meeting dates for 2006

Recommend a Chairperson for 2006 - to be approved by City Council

Select a Vice-Chairperson and Secretary for 2006

Bethlehem Baptist Church Donations – identify a Commission member(s) who would volunteer to serve on this committee.

Trailway Program – Review Trailway Comprehensive Plan and read Trailway Advocacy Group proposal

Park Needs Analysis - The Commissioners have requested to review the current draft.

Any Other Items?

7. Commissioner/Staff Reports:

This year the scheduled opening is December 19th. This is the date that there will be an attendant at the warming houses / shelter buildings. The closing date for rinks is tentatively
set for February 13th. It may be extended past this date if the weather stays favorable – cold and cloudy.

Any Other Reports?

8. Request for future agenda items/other business
Possible Items for January 26th Agenda
