Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Agenda July 22, 2004 6:30 P.M. 1. Roll Call 2. Approval of minutes from the May 27, 2004 meeting. NOTE: There was not a quorum at the June 24, 2004 Meeting date so no meeting was held. A special meeting was scheduled and held on July 8, 2004. The only subject discussed was the Greenfield Park Plaground Equipment Replacement Project. The Commissioners present were: Kunz, Kunza, Long, Edmond, Silvis The Commissioner Kunz made a motion to recommend dedication of$40,000 from the City Park dedication Fund in 2005 for the Greenfield Park Playground Equipment Replacement Project. This was seconded by Silvis and passed unanimously. 3. Unfinished Business: a) Greenfield Park Play Equipment - The motion to recommend dedication of$40,000 from the City Park dedication Fund in 2005 for the Greenfield Park Playground Equipment Replacement Project is being presented to the City Council on Monday July 26, 2004. Attached is the Staff report. b) Groveland Park Building Replacement. —On May 10, 2004, the City Council approved Resolution No. 6203 Authorizing the Preparation of a Site Plan, Construction Plans, Specifications, and Consultant Selection for the Groveland Park Shelter Building Replacement Project. . TKDA has submitted a Letter Agreement, which included a cost estimate of$19,600 for completing the plans specifications. This Letter Agreement was presented to the City Council on June 28th for approval. The City Council rejected it. On July 12, 2004, the City Council approved a resolution to rescind Resolution No. 6203 and authorize the preparation of a Request For Proposal (RFP) for work associated with the preparation of a site plan, construction plans, and specifications for the Groveland Park Building Replacement Project. The RFP is scheduled to be approved by City Council on August 9, 2004. c) Facility Guide Update— Steve and Desaree are meeting on July 6th to develop the layout of the Guide. A draft will be distributed at the August 26th meeting. d) Park Usage Data Collection Sheets—any up dates? e) Community Survey—This was included in the May/June addition of the Mounds View Matters. As of 6/23/2004 a total of 26 surveys were filled out and returned to the City. The deadline for submittal is September 3, 2004. The Commission requested to review the surveys received so far at the next meeting. These are attached. The City will be publishing a reminder in the newspaper (Bulletin)to fill these out. f) YMCA Committee Update
