• The proposed playground is 76' X 85'. It would have wood fiberfill <br /> base. <br /> • The Commission asked, "to what standard will it be built to?" The <br /> equipment will come with a compliance letter—it will comply will all <br /> of the industries standards as of that day. <br /> • The Commission asked about maintenance issues. Steve stated that <br /> replacement parts can be found up until about 8 years (industry <br /> standard). <br /> • This project would need to go through the competitive bidding <br /> process. <br /> • As per City Legal Counsel, Park Donations are most likely tax <br /> deductible. However, one must always consult their tax advisor for <br /> their particular tax situation. <br /> • NEXT STEPS: <br /> o Review other vendors products <br /> o Commission reviews park long range financial plan <br /> o Investigate donations <br /> o Finalize the plan <br /> o Commission recommend approval of the plan <br /> o City Council approves the plan <br /> o Advertise of bids <br /> o Bids received <br /> o Council awards contract/purchase <br /> o Product is ordered <br /> o Product is installed <br /> b) Groveland Park Building Replacement. <br /> • This issue has been placed on the May 3, 2004 City Council Work <br /> Session Agenda. <br /> • On May 10, 2004, the City Council approved Resolution No. 6203 <br /> Authorizing the Preparation of a Site Plan, Construction Plans, <br /> Specifications, and Consultant Selection for the Groveland Park <br /> Shelter Building Replacement Project. <br /> • Steve is working with the consultant TKDA to develop the site and <br /> construction plans. <br /> • Steve and TKDA have reviewed the site, reviewed Hillview plans, <br /> discussed proposed changed from the Hillview plan. <br /> • The preferred site will be very close to the existing site <br /> • TKDA will submit a letter proposal with step and cost estimates <br /> • Steve will develop cost to maintain a building of this size/nature <br /> • Commissioners requested a cost comparison of Hillview maintenance <br /> versus current Groveland maintenance (assuming Groveland building <br /> was staying)—do a 5 year projection cost comparison <br /> • Develop a cost break down for Hillview <br /> c) Facility Guide Update <br /> • The text part is essentially complete <br /> 2 <br />
