I 4. New Business: a) Groveland Park Building Replacement. —Initiate discussions on this topic. Attached is a park building usage summary. • Groveland and Random are the higher used building. • They are both old and need of repair. • The review of the park building this last year deemed that the repair was not the best solution of Groveland building. • There is $20,000 to start the design process for the Groveland Building in 2004. • There will be design costs for Groveland, regardless if the plans of the Hillview building is used. • Groveland and Hillview are currently the same size (approximately). • A serving counter similar to what is available at Silver View may be a nice amenity. The design of Groveland should include this. • Hillview plans could be used with some modification. • Motion to replace the building at Groveland Park using the Hillview design: Edmond 2nd: Long Discussion: • Hillview shelter open air porch was added on . • Commissioners next month look at Hillview shelter • Amendment was added by Kroeger to use the Hillview design as a base line and to add a kitchen / serving area. 2nd: Kunz • Next meeting bring Hillview plans and any sight plans of Groveland Park. Motion passed unanimously b) Skate Park—Initiate discussions on this topic. This item is currently in the City's Capital Improvement Program scheduled for 2004. It was not recommended in 2003. Does the Commission want to proceed with this, delay it, or remove it from the Capital Improvement Program? • Spend a lot of time on this already. • It might be good to let it"simmer". • Delay it until we find a suitable location of financing. • As presented last year, this was planned to be supervised. • Public Meeting was held, at the following Park and Recreation Meeting it was decided not to proceed with it. • Maintenance of the park would be derived for the City's general fund. • There were other financial needs of the City. 3
