Include in the March/April addition odf the Moundsates on the aViewlection Matters? • Deadline is Monday January 26, 2004 to submit information for the March/April Mounds View Matters. • Commissioners decided NOT to put the park use survey in the Mounds View Matters. • Commissioners (Kroeger/Mandoza) will develop a description on how to fill out the park usage survey—guidance information. • The Commission gave direction to staff to put an article to ask request assistance in filling out the Park Usage Form. • Forms will be available at City Hall and on the WEB site, the instructions to be developed by the commissioners will be printed on the back. d) Community Survey— On hold • Several firms have been contacted. • However, the City has not contract with any firm to do the survey. e) Garbage Collection Fund— On hold • Next step is to get a written description of their program. fl City Council Appointments—On January 12, 2004, the City Council approved Resolution No. 6162 appointing John Kroeger to another term on the Park and Recreation Commission and appointing him as Chairperson on this Commission. • The Chairperson is appointed annually g) Ice Rink Update • The rinks were established twice this year. • Now with the colder weather the rinks are doing better. • There is about 6" of ice. • The rink survey should include hockey skaters as well as pleasures skaters. • Edmond asked what causes the boils in the ice. ANSWER: Dazenski: This is caused by the fermentation of the soil underneath (gases). There's not much we can do about it. If it gets too bad it can be chopped up. 2
