111/1
MEMO TO: Mounds View Parks and Recre.tion Commissioners
FROM: Bruce K. Anderson , 10• / or
111 Parks, Recreation 4P` ire r.
DATE:
March 24, 1982
RE: Silver View Park Update
Enclosed is a report from Mary Anderson regarding a proposed change in
the townhouse development section of the Silver Woods Development. The
revised proposal which will be going before the Planning Commission on
Wednesday, March 21 , 1982 is to consider eight unit manor homes in place
of the 4 unit townhomes currently proposed.
A detailed comparison between the four unit townhouses and eight unit
manor homes can be found on page four of the attached report. In addition
111/1 to the comparison drawn on page four a second major consideration is that
Mary Anderson has agreed to pay the S .W.M. fund which has been a major issue
with the City Council .
The only impact on Silver View Park that staff envisions would center around
increased density which would increase the potential park users. Staff does
not envision this as a detriment but rather an asset to the park area.
Staff would recommend that the Park Commission recommend to the City Council
that you have reviewed the attached report and do not envision any detrimental
impacts on the park areas .
Staff recently met with Gary Tushie, Saunders/Thalden and Associates, to discuss
our timeline for 1982 regarding Silver View Park. To date we have completed
the following tasks:
1 . Initial tree planting - Early Spring inspection has shown
111/1
an extremely good success ratio.
2. Rough grading has been completed.
