W A 1 L R I R O N T DIRE CFO O R <br /> GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> • Under general supervision of the Mounds View Parks and Recreation Department, to <br /> direct and participate in the work of lifeguards in the prevention of drowning, <br /> resuscitation of drowning persons , rendering of first aid and preservation of order. <br /> All general duties , responsibilities and rules which apply to lifeguards also apply <br /> to senior lifeguards . <br /> Under direction, to direct the work of Lifeguards , Senior Life Guards and other <br /> employees in the staffing, operation and maintenance of Lakeside Park Beach and <br /> to perform related work as assigned . <br /> The Waterfront Director's duties will include: <br /> 1. Direct work of lifeguards . <br /> 2. Participate in work of lifeguards <br /> 3. Responsibilities of lifeguirds also apply to Senior lifeguards . <br /> 4. Schedule working hours , rotation , and cuts among lifeguards. Assign <br /> work including lifeguarding, first aid, cleaning, and maintenance . <br /> Determine which lifeguard is to he sent to other beaches when required, <br /> by Beach Manager. <br /> 5. Fill out all time ,�logs <br /> .1 and sign all correct time cards . <br /> 11110 6. Prepare attendance, first aid, evaluation, inventory and all other <br /> reports and forms . <br /> 7. Motivate lifeguards to fulfill their responsibilities . <br /> 8. Impose special rules for individual beaches , and individual personnel . <br /> 9. Instruct lifeguards in all regulations , rules , safety procedures , use <br /> of equipment, and techniques of patron control . <br /> 10. Solve all problems which can be handled at beach level . Along with <br /> this , isolating the Mounds View Parks and Recreation Department from <br /> trivial , time consuming problems which can be handled at beach level . <br /> 11. Work closely with Mounds View Parks and Recreation Department in dealing <br /> with problems which cannot be handled at beach level . <br /> 12. Schedule guard for early (before noon) openings . <br /> 13. A major responsibility is to get the rotation started at the beginning <br /> of the day. Often this requires assigning guards to their first positio <br /> Once initiated, the rotation may need direction to keep it timely and <br /> orderly. <br /> 14. Require a guard on duty in the boat whenever there are swimmers in deep <br /> water. <br /> 15. Require that whenever swimmers are in an area of the beach, a guard will <br /> be guarding that area. <br /> 16. Supervise and assist in the general and daily clean up tasks of the beac <br /> S . which ensure the safety and welfare of participants , such as : <br /> 1. picking up bottles , can tops , cans and other debris on the premises . <br /> 2. disinfecting and cleaning the beach house and toilet floors . <br /> 3. maintaining a sufficient supply of toilet paper. <br /> 4. inspection an'' ire of the first aid and lifeguarding equipment and <br /> suiplies , i ,g the boat , orrs , beach tower, bullhorn, and other <br />
