• <br /> WATERFRONT DIRECTOR (continued) <br /> 11111 <br /> DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br /> Thorough knowledge of life saving practices and techniques . <br /> Thorough knowledge of first aid and safety practices . <br /> Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of others . <br /> Ability to establish and carry out in-service training programs . <br /> Ability to maintain good public relations and successfully resolve complaints . <br /> Good physical condition. <br /> EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: <br /> To be responsible for the operation cPark <br /> setBeach <br /> forthand <br /> by the MoundsrViewgParks , <br /> out <br /> of rules , regulations, directions policiesas <br /> Recreation and Forestry Department. <br /> To make assignments to beaches according to location, size of beach, weather, etc . <br /> To assist in the selection of beach personnel . <br /> To keep time records of employees . <br /> To maintain an inventory of equipment and keep other records as required . <br /> 111/ <br /> To inspect beaches and equipment tod insure safe conditions of both , and order <br /> cleaning and maintenance when nee <br /> To evaluate personnel and recommend disciplinary action when necessary . <br /> To handle complaints and deal tactfully with the public . <br /> To file reports of all beach incidents with the Director of Parks, Recreation and <br /> Forestry Department. <br /> To <br /> direct an in-service training program on life saving techniques, first aid and crowd <br /> control . <br /> To perform all of the duties of subordinate positions as may be required . <br /> MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> Twoear's experience in a position that would tend to demonstrate supervising skills <br /> y <br /> and at least two seasons ' experience as a Waterfront Direc or. <br /> Or college graduation and at least two seasons ' experience as a lifeguard at a pub <br /> beach or pool . <br /> Applicants must have a current Senior Lifesaving Certificate and must be over 21 years <br /> of age. <br />
