Anderson, Director <br /> Parks , Recreation and Forestry <br /> DATE : February 24, 1982 <br /> SUBJECT: Monthly Report, February, 1982 <br /> The following issues or programs are outlined to provide the Commission <br /> with a letter overview of our departments day to day operations . Each <br /> of the listed items are strictly information oriented and not intended <br /> for formal Commission action. <br /> 1. Newsletter - The March/April newsletter should be <br /> delivered to the Home by Wednesday, March 3, 1982. <br /> 2. Spring Recreation Programs - The Spring recreation <br /> programs are installed in the March/April newsletter <br /> with programs stated for beginning in early April . <br /> 3. Mary Saarion Elected Chairperson of Recreation Section - <br /> Mary Sarrion, Program Supervisor has been elected to <br /> 11111 <br /> be the recreation section chairperson for 1982. Her <br /> duties will include coordinating the state recreation <br /> newsletter, conducting meetings , coordinating workshops , <br /> etc. <br /> 4. Prairie Restoration - City Forester Wriskey and myself <br /> attended a 1/2 day meeting with staff from P.O.T. on <br /> February 12, 1982, regarding the possibility of establishing <br /> a natural prairie grass area at Silver View Park. The <br /> session was most informative and we will be exploring <br /> the prairie and wildflower applications in the future. <br /> Leisure Delivery System - Staff is working with the other three parks and <br /> recreation directors on developing a comprehensive leisure delivery system <br /> on a school district wide basis. I have enclosed an outline of our planned <br /> program and will keep the Park Commission apprised as we go. <br /> BKA/n b <br />
