The long range proposal is to add an additional hockey rink facility at
Silver View Park by moving the lights and boards from Greenfield Park in
1982.
4. With the advent of the new equipment for maintaining ice; we are now at an
acceptable level (8 sheets of ice) which the crew can maintain in good •
fashion.
Staff would recommend that the Council close only one additional rink this year,
that being Greenfield Park and allow Groveland to have limited hours (possibly
just weekend and evenings) . Staff raticnale is that Hillview is only three
blocks west of Greenfield while Groveland is more isolated. By exploring this
compromise proposal , we would be saving approximately $4,000. with the remaining
$1 ,120. going to maintain a minimal program at Groveland Park.
Staff will be on hand to respond to any questions the City Council may have Monday
evening.
•
