C0\17 kYY RESOLUTION NO. 1403 1110 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION ENDORSINC1 AND ENCOURAGING THE USE OF EDGEWOOD JUNIOR I1T0,11 AS THE DISTRICT SERVICE CENTER AND COrgr1UNITY RESOURCE CENTER • WHEREAS, the Mounds View School Board approved the closing of Edgewood Junior High at the end of the 1981-82 school year; and WHEREAS , Edgewood Junior High has proved to be a valuable community resource by providing significant recreational opportunities to the students of the Mounds View School District and residents of the City of Mounds View; and WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View and the Mounds View School District have entered into a .joint Powers Agreement allowing for the development and improvement of outdoor recreational facilities on the Edgewood Junior High site , such as , the recently constructed tennis court facilities ; and WHEREAS, over the past year the Mounds View School District has invested large sums of money for the improvement of recreational • facilities on the Edgewood Junior High site that could be used by students at other schools to alleviate the pressure on inadequate facilities ; and WHEREAS, the consolidation of the operation of the District ' s Community Resource Center and District Service Center would allow for the preservation of these facilities , as well as providing for suffi- cient space for these operations; and WHEREAS , such consolidation would allow for the continued use of these facilities by the Mounds View Parks and Recreation Department and residents of Mounds View. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council endorses and encourages the use of Edgewood Junior High as the District Service Center and Community Resource Center.
