Year end forestry report
'Page 2
January 8, 1982
1011/0
Regarding the balance of manpower, equipment, etc. between the two communities ,
it became almost an even match with Mounds View showing a positive balance of
approximately $250.00. The major contributing factor to this was the full time
use of the new City Forestry Truck.
Staff is presently working with the New Brighton Park Department to plan our 1982
program. The major change that is being discussed is having only one tree con-
tractor between the two Cities. By joining hands once again , we feel that we
will be able to receive better bid prices due to large quantities , while increasing
our Forester's efficiency by dealing with only one contractor for both Cities.
In conclusion, staff is pleased to report that through the cooperative efforts of
the two Cities, we were able to maintain and often exceed past performance levels
while greatly reducing our financial dollars. Should you have any questions
regarding our forestry program, feel free to give me a call at extension #41.
