The west arm of the lake has been
completed in close conformance with the approved plans. In the south
and east arm areas, we anticipate some modifications due to conditions
in the marsh area that were not originally anticipated. Among the
changes are the following:
• 1. Near the south limits of the south arm, some materials were
not excavated in an area where final water depth was planned
to be about 1.0 foot. We expect that part of the area will
settle due to the adjacent excavation and lower water levels.
2. We were not able to excavate in a small area next to the
ditch in the east arm due to depth of peat and problems
with reaching the area with a dragline.
Since the above actions reflect minor changes to the approved
plans, we will prepare an as-built excavation plan when work nears
completion. With such a plan, the City can review any changes and
decide whether further action is necessary.
Please contact me if submittal and review of such a plan is
satisfactory.
Yours very truly,
Ae4t49,4"-
Gerald M.
