SHOREVIEW • PARK & RECREATION ADVISORY COMMISSION Goals & Objectives Coal : To assure citizen input to the City Council in order to provide recreation programs, activities and facilities to meet the needs of the City's citizens. Objectives : In order to fulfill the duties and functions as established by the Park & Recreation Advisory Commission Ordinance, the following objectives are presented: 1. To work with the Park & Recreation Department in all phases of its activities. 2. To provide citizen input to the Master Park & Recreation Plan for the development of facilities and programs. 3. To cooperate with and advise the Planning Commission for providing Park & Recreation input to the Planning Commission Community Facilities Plan. III/1 4 . To cooperate_ with and advise the Capital Improvements Committee for providing Park & Recreation input on future needs and assist with priority setting. 5. To work with the Park & Recreation Department in the development of maintenance policies. 6. To assist the Park & Recreation Department in budget develop- ment and review. 7. To work with the City Council and City staff for the implement- ation of the Park & Recreation Master Plan. 8. To cooperate with other park & recreation departments , schools , and private agencies for provision of services to citizens. 9. To provide public information and public relations efforts regarding Park & Recreation activities. 10. To review and make recommendations about appropriate maintenance and operation of facilties and programs. 11. To communicate regularly with City Council and Planning Commission through joint meetings and meeting minutes. 111/1 12. To develop a set of procedures for effective operation of the Park & Recreation Advisory Commission and up-date periodically.
