• BY-LAWS <br /> of <br /> MOUNDS VIEW COMMUNITY EDUCATION ADVISORY COUNCIL <br /> ARTICLE I - NAME <br /> The name of this organization shall be the Mounds View Community Education <br /> Advisory Council . <br /> ARTICLE II - PHILOSOPHY <br /> The School District 621 Community Education Advisory Council strives to serve <br /> the entire community by providing for the educational , recreational , and cul- <br /> tural needs of the community. Community Education uses aT1 available resources <br /> to serve as a catalyst for developing individual potential , solving community <br /> problems , increasing a positive sense of community, and improving community <br /> living. <br /> ARTICLE III - PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE <br /> 1111/ <br /> Section 1 - The purpose of the Council shall be to advise and make recommenda- <br /> tions to the Board of Education and the Community Education Staff on the com- <br /> munity education programs and activities of the District. These programs will <br /> include academic improvements, enrichment, vocational improvement, leisureand <br /> recreational services, social services , and activities. They will utilize <br /> School District, connnunity and private resources and facilities . They will <br /> be for all ages and social and economic groups residing in the geographic <br /> boundaries of the District. <br /> Section 2 - The Council shall bring together representatives of community organ- <br /> iia---tions, <br /> rgan- <br /> za it ons, general public, municipalities and the School District to carry out <br /> the purposes of Section T. <br /> Section 3 - The objectives of the Mounds View Connnunity Education Advisory Coun- <br /> ic l shall be to : <br /> A) Identify, coordinate and inform the public of resources available to the <br /> community. <br /> B) Coordinate community resources by promoting : <br /> 1 . Greater use and sharing of human talents and resources . <br /> 2. Lifelong learning and enrichment opportunities for all ages. <br /> 3. Greater use of educational and community facilities . <br /> 4. Improved community-school relationships. <br /> 111/1 <br /> 5. Increased interagency coordination and cooperation. <br /> 6. Increased citizen involvement in the decision-making processes <br /> of education and community development. <br />
