ARTICLE IV - POLICIES 1110 <br /> Section 1 - This Council shall be non-commercial , non-sectarian, and non- <br /> political . No commercial enterprise and no political candidate can be <br /> endorsed by it. The name of this Council or its officers in their official <br /> capacities shall not be used in any connection with a commercial concern or <br /> with any partisan interest or any other purpose than the regular work of the <br /> Council . <br /> Section 2 - The Council affirms that: <br /> A. There shall be no discrimination with regard to hiring, assignment, <br /> promotion, or other conditions of staff employment. <br /> B. The Council is open to representatives from all segments of the <br /> public as defined by the by-laws. <br /> C. There is no discrimination or segregation because of race, sex, age <br /> or creed in any service provided by the Mounds View Community Edu- <br /> cation Advisory Council . <br /> ARTICLE V - MEMBERSHIP <br /> Section 1 - All civic or community service organizations , local government <br /> units, and representatives of community programs within School District 621 , 1111/ <br /> shall be eligible for membership. <br /> Section 2 - The Community Education Advisory Council is appointed by the <br /> Mounds View School Board according to State Law M.S. 275.125 guaranteeing <br /> representation to all sectors of the community. <br /> Section 3 - The number of community members shall be greater than the number <br /> of designated representatives on the Council . <br /> Section 4 - Each representative shall have one (1 ) vote in the affairs of the <br /> Council <br /> Section 5 - Any group or organization desiring Council Membership may contact <br /> the District 621 School Board. <br /> Section 6 - The term of office for members shall he three years beginning in <br /> September, with all members eligible for reappointment. The terms of one- <br /> third of the members shall expire each year. <br /> Section 7 - General meetings of the Mounds View Community Education Advisory <br /> Council shall be held at least once each month, unless otherwise designated, <br /> at a time and place established by the Council . <br /> Section 8 - Notice of all general meetings of the Council shall be given to <br /> the members by mail not less than seven (7) days prior to such meetings. <br /> 111/0 <br /> Section 9 - At any general meeting of the Mounds View Community Education <br /> Advisory Council , a quorum shall consist of a simple majority of the membership. <br /> • <br /> -2- <br />
