Anderson, Dire, . <br /> Parks , Recreation and For- lr <br /> DATE : September 29 , 1981 <br /> RE : Building demolition <br /> We currently have five park shelter buildings that the City Council <br /> has approved for demolition during the upcoming weeks . As of September <br /> 29 , 1981 those will become your responsibility to oversee and coordinate' <br /> the orderly "elimination" of the five buildings . The following issues <br /> should be addressed during the demolition process : <br /> L'1 . Contact Superintendent of Public Works Decheine to get an <br /> initial list of things that will need tending to , i . e . , <br /> a . Disconnect eletrical , IOW and gas line . <br /> b . Removal of heaters . <br /> c . Clean up interior items (especially Greenfield) <br /> 1111 te. Contact Ron Fagerstrom, fire department - 786-4436 , to pursue <br /> the possibility of the fire department burning them down. <br /> 3 . Contact Don Hodges , City Councilmember , regarding the Boy <br /> Scouts using the wood. <br /> L/4 . Contact Larry regarding the costs of the City tearing them down <br /> and hauling the wood away. <br /> 5 . Contact the building inspector , Bob Mikulak , to tour the buildings <br /> to see what should be salvaged . c,:,-. 0 ,i.<ro <br /> 6 . Be sure to save rubber floor matting for use in trailers . <br /> 7 . Find temporary storage for all of the building materials inside <br /> (especially Greenfield) but also the nets , etc . <br /> 8 . Contact refuse companies to see what the cost will be in removing <br /> the rubble . <br /> 9 . Prepare a staff memo with a recommendation for the Parks and Rec- <br /> reation Commission to review at their October 22 , 1981 meeting. <br /> 10 . Depending on length of time in destroying the buildings , we will <br /> commence the demolition immediately. <br />
