Fr- . ‘
MEMO TO: Lee Johnson, Student Intern, Parks, Recreation & Forestry
Department
4111 FROM: Bob Mikulak, Building Inspectot-L-WL
DATE: October 16 , 1981
1?E: Park Shelter Buildings
On October 13, 1981, we visited all park shelter buildings located
in Mounds View. It is my understanding that the intent is to see if
there would be any economic gain for the City to remove or dismantle
any building materials or equipment for resale or reuse. Going through
the buildings on an individual basis, I have listed a reasonable value
the City may get for the stoves and electrical components :
Hillview Greenfield
Stove - $15 . 00 Stove - $10 . 00
Electric - No Value Electric - $75. 00 (also controls
outside lighting)
Oakwood Lambert
Stove - $15 . 00 Stove - $10. 00
Electric - No Value Electric - No Value
Woodcrest
1111 Heater - $60 . 00
Electric - $20 . 00
All of the buildings have some building materials such as studs,
rafters, exterior wall sheathing (not siding) , that is in good condi-
tion, the approximate value of which is $300 per building. But
keeping in mind the cost of labor for Parks personnel or CETA Staff
to dismantle the buildings, it would be better for the City to sell
the buildings to the highest bidders. There is already some interest
in this, and if it were to be done, the removal of all heaters would
be recommended prior to any sale.
It is also my understanding that Greenfield will be used for storage
on a continual basis . If this is the case, the heating system must
still be removed. An option to that would be to relocate the unit
heater at Woodcrest, which is in good condition, to the Greenfield Build-
ing.
If you have any questions, please call me at extension #33 .
RMM/bc
cc : Steve Rose, Building & Zoning Official
1111 Bruce Anderson, Parks , Recreation & Forestry Director
