Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes
2/26/81 Page 6
411
Commissioner Linke responded that he felt the
majority of the voters didn' t have any problem
with the plan but didn' t approve the money financin,
portion .
Planning Commissioner Loeding felt that the vote
definitely reflected a vot on the park plan rather
than just the money .
A general discussion then followed between the
two Commissions regarding the referendum and
what the vote actually indicated. There was no
general consensus between the two Commissions .
The Parks and Recreation Commission discussed
reasons as to why the referendum may have failed;
• Commissioner Scott stated that the School
Referendum had an input, Commissioner Silvis
stated that being with the general election didn' t
help it .
Planning Commissioner Glazer than asked how the
plan could be implemented should a referendum not
be successful again .
Chairperson Burmeister responded that it could be
funded through L .A.W. C .O .N. and general funds but
it would take a long period of time .
Planning Coumiissioner Loeding then asked whether
the Parks and Recreation Commission would be in
favor of having a referendum to determine whether
or not the plan itself was acceptable to the
111 voters .
