Anderson, Dir-04 , <br /> il <br /> Parks, Recreation a �. <br /> - • - •,tr Iep.rtment <br /> DATE : February 25, 1981 <br /> RE: Code Revision <br /> As per the attached memos, staff, in conjunction with the Parks and <br /> Recreation Commission, has been directed to review Chapters 23 and 24 <br /> of the City Municipal Code. I have attached copies of the chapters in <br /> question for your review and comment. <br /> Staff' s reaction to the Chapters is as follows : <br /> CHAPTER 23 <br /> PARK AND RECREATION FUND <br /> 23.01 - Establishment - no change. <br /> • 23.02 - Purpose - staff would recommend that the 23.02 should read as <br /> follows: <br /> "There shall be deposited in said fund all cash payments <br /> received by the City pursuant to the provisions of <br /> Chapter 42. 13 of this Code." <br /> Staff recommends deletion of the statement regarding "Federal , State or <br /> City Laws . . . " . We currently establish separate funds or accounts for <br /> each individual park project, i .e. Silver View Park, Edgewood Junior High <br /> School , etc. By establishing separate funds for each project, we are able <br /> to keep a more accurate breakdown as to the status of each account. <br /> 23.03 - Use of Fund <br /> Subdivision 1 - Chapter 42. 13 Payments - no change <br /> Subdivision 2 - Other receipts <br /> Staff is not aware of what type of "other receipts" might be credited towards <br /> this fund but I question the use of "other receipts" for the purchase of <br /> • <br /> expendable commodities such as operation and maintenance expenses. Staff' s <br /> position is that all monies credited towards the Parks and Playground Fund should <br />
