• CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> Thursday, April 27 , 1995 <br /> 6: 30 p.m. <br /> City Hall <br /> CALL TO <br /> ORDER: Chair Burmeister called the meeting to order at <br /> 6 : 40 p.m. <br /> - ROLL CALL: Members present included Chair Burmeister, <br /> Commissioners Dentz, Starr, Silvis, Long and <br /> Stevenson. Director Saarion was also present. <br /> WOODCREST <br /> PARK: Director Saarion informed the Commission of the <br /> grant which has been submitted for Woodcrest Park <br /> improvements - a priority goal of the Commission. <br /> The grant would include moving the storm water <br /> ditch, establishing a ponding area, constructing a <br /> . small youth athletic field, paving the parking lot <br /> and repairing the park building, and various <br /> landscaping. Matching funds would include part <br /> Park Improvement Funds and part Storm Water <br /> Management Funds. Awards will be announced in <br /> August of 1995. <br /> PEDESTRIAN <br /> BRIDGE <br /> UPDATE: The City Council wishes to wait until the <br /> Legislature finishes so that they can have a <br /> better handle on TIF regulations before jumping <br /> into the pedestrian bridge project. <br /> SCOUT CAN <br /> COLLECTION: Cub Scout Pack has decided to collect the cans <br /> from City Hall and the Golf Course. The can <br /> collection revenues will be used for those needing <br /> funding for scout camps. <br /> TRAILWAYS: After reviewing several options for bikelane <br /> options, the Commission agreed that perhaps the <br /> timing is not great for advocating bike lanes on <br /> community streets. This issue will be on hold. <br /> • MVAA BLDG. : The City Council has approved the recommendation <br /> to allow MVAA to build a storage building on City <br /> Hall property for MVAA equipment and uniform <br /> storage. The building will be built sometime in <br />
