• August. <br /> LAKESIDE <br /> WATERSLIDE: This idea was discussed further as a facility to <br /> generate revenues. A short video was shown <br /> regarding the potential for waterslide-generated <br /> revenues. Director Saarion shared information <br /> received from a recent Aquatics Conference which <br /> she attended. Waterslides and water facilities of <br /> all kinds are a "hot" facility for generating <br /> revenues, for perking up old aquatic facilities <br /> and serving many ages. The Commission asked staff <br /> to continue to pursue the project - to place the <br /> project on the Capital Improvement Plan for ' <br /> future. <br /> PARK PATROL: Director Saarion reported that 5 community <br /> residents have been very active in patrolling the <br /> neighborhood parks and Silver View Park in general <br /> during evenings and weekends. They have been very <br /> impressed with the courtesy of park users. They <br /> will continue to volunteer their time and efforts <br /> into ensuring that parks are being used correctly <br /> and that users abide by park rules. <br /> • GOLF COURSE <br /> UPDATE: Director Saarion reported that the Golf Course <br /> Practice Range opened April 18 . Seasonal staff <br /> has been hired. Merchandise and food and <br /> beverages and a few pieces of equipment are <br /> expected yet to be purchased. Golf Course <br /> Superintendent Mike Mueller is busy mowing and <br /> fertilizing and overseeding and all the other <br /> things necessary to ensure that the grass grows in <br /> properly. We are hoping for warm weather - yet to <br /> be experienced. <br /> ADJOURNMENT: Meeting was adjourned. <br /> • <br />
