• 1995 GOALS <br /> MOUNDS VIEW PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> 1. Pursue the possibilities of purchasing the two residential <br /> lots that abut Ardan Park. <br /> - Plan co-existence with the compost pile facility. <br /> - Meet and discuss landscaping and other ways of <br /> improving the compost area with Ramsey County so that <br /> the compost pile does not negatively impact Ardan Park. <br /> - Continue with plans for developing Ardan Park with <br /> original Master Plan amenities, inviting nearby <br /> residents to input ideas. <br /> 2 . Improve Woodcrest Park. <br /> - Pave the parking lot. <br /> - Have engineering evaluation regarding the soils, <br /> elevation, drainage, etc. <br /> - Construct a youth ballfield. <br /> - Initiate plans for culverting the storm water ditches <br /> at Woodcrest Park. <br /> - Look into the possibility of continuing a trailway <br /> from Woodcrest Park connecting to Silver View Park. <br /> 3 . Continue with the plans for construction of a Pedestrian <br /> Bridge spanning Highway 10 funded with ISTEA grant monies <br /> with a 20% match by the City. <br /> - Continue communication with the State to encourage <br /> scheduled funding. <br /> - Obtain boiler plate plans for bridges and begin ideas <br /> for landscaping and amenities. <br /> - Budget for this project in the 1996 budget. <br /> 4 . Publicize passive recreational opportunities offered by the <br /> open space located adjacent to The Bridges Golf Course. <br /> - Facilitate cross country skiing, nature hiking, bird <br /> and wildlife watching. <br /> - Name the Open Space. <br /> _ Hold activities which will introduce the community to <br /> the Open Space. <br /> - Connect a hiking trail with Sysco property. <br /> 5. Install a crossing for the storm water ditch at Silver View <br /> Park which would connect the sidewalk trail along Silver <br /> Lake Road to County Road I via Silver View Park. <br /> • - Use the services of SEH to investigate the <br /> possibilities. <br /> - Incorporate the Storm Water Management program to <br />
