Recommend a policy for "NO NET LOSS" parkland similar to the <br /> policy adopted by Ramsey County to ensure dedicated public <br /> lands for perpetuity. <br /> 8 . Pursue the possibilities of acquiring, leasing, or obtainint <br /> spaces and facilities to house community programs and <br /> services. <br /> - Pursue the possibility of purchasing vacant <br /> • buildings. <br /> - Pursue the possibility of using unleased retail <br /> spaces. <br /> - Pursue the possibility of joint ventures with NW <br /> Family Services for the above facilities. <br /> - Survey the community for desires for additional <br /> facility space and usage. <br /> 9 . Continue to pursue revenue producing recreation facilities <br /> and services. <br /> - Look to other cities to see the successful <br /> activities. <br /> - Research possible capital monies available for <br /> investment. <br /> - Collect and share with City officials information <br /> regarding economic benefits of recreation facilities <br /> and activities. <br /> 10. Pursue opportunities to acquire public entity parklands and <br /> green spaces. <br /> - Obtain funds for purchase of available lands to <br /> develop active park facilities especially youth <br /> athletic fields. <br /> • - Advocate for the beneficial preservation of <br /> appropriate wetlands, green spaces and open spaces <br /> establishing a balance of development and natural <br /> environment. <br />
