Re re i a d Forestry DATE: May 3, 1984 RE: Department Update Included is a preliminary draft of a long range financial plan that has been submitted to Clerk-Administrator Pauley as per his request. I spoke briefly to each of the Park Commissioners in attendance on Saturday, April 28, regazding this issue and would like to request your input on this paper Cefore any formal dra£t ia prepareC. The major thrust of the paper is to attempt to de- £ine capital park improvement projects for the next five years based on a minimum of 550,000 construction per annum. The report, as i indicated, has been submitted to Clerk-Administrator Pauley and we hope to be discussing it at a staEE level during Yhe next two weeks. It would be my desire that this isaue be placed on !he May 24 Park Commission agenda for your revlew and any comments prior to that date would be greatly appreciated as we hope to have a preliminary draft prepared for the Council review at § at June work session. The second item that i have included £or youc review is a list of speoifications for the playground at Random Park. We had an inteceating tour of siz park sites on Satucday morning, April 28 and I prepared the bid specifications based on the general comments Ghat I heacd from the Park Commissionera. My plan onCe again is to have specific playground proposala Eor t�e commiesion to review at [he May 24 meeting which will specifically show the equipment modules that could be purchased within our set budget.
