Business Eligibility - <br /> Business must submit a plan to the administrator: <br /> 1. Describing duties and compensation. <br /> 2. Demonstrating that, with the funds provided, <br /> the business is likely to succeed and continue <br /> to employ the person. <br /> 3. The funds are necessary to allow the business <br /> to begin, or employ additional people, but not <br /> to fill positions that would have otherwise been <br /> filled. <br /> • 4. The business is in compliance with all applicable <br /> affirmative action, fair labor, health, safety, <br /> and environmental standards. <br /> Business Payback - <br /> Length of participant Pe*cent of Payback <br /> loyment <br /> 0 - 6 months 70% <br /> 6 - 18 months proportional payback <br /> 18 months + 0 payback <br /> If an employer dismisses an employee for good cause and <br /> 111/1 <br /> works in good faith with the admin strator, and hires <br /> another eligible employee, the payback shall apply as if <br /> the original person had continued in employment. <br /> Criteria of selection of private sector employers - <br /> In allocating furls among eligible businesses, the <br /> employment administrator shall give priority to <br /> businesses which best satisfy the following criteria: <br /> a. have a high potential for growth and long <br /> tern job creation <br /> b. are labor intensive <br /> c. meet the definition of a small business <br /> as defined in section 645.455 <br /> d. make high use of local and Minnesota <br /> resources <br /> e. are under ownership of women and minorities <br /> f. make high use of nes: technology <br /> g. produce energy conserving materials or services <br /> or are involved in development of renewal sources <br /> of energy, and <br /> h. have their primary place of business in Minnesota. <br /> Additional programs authorized - <br /> Further programs are authorized by the Act that include cash 11111 <br /> assistance grants coordinated through the State Public Welfare <br /> Department and are scheduled to begin October 1, 1983. <br /> RCC <br /> 6/83 <br />
