Minutes of the Proceedings of the Parks and Recreation Commission City of Mounds View County of Ramsey State of Minnesota 11110 January 27 , 1983 Mounds View City Hall Council Chambers 6 : 30 p .m. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister at 6 : 32 p.m. ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Frank Silvis , David Long, Wayne Weflen, Wayne Burmeister . Commissioners absent: Ed Letendre, Donna Bowman, Cindy Wermager . Councilmember present: Bill Doty Staff present: Director Anderson and Program Super- visor Saarion. APPROVAL OF THE Motion to approve the minutes of December 16 , 1982 was MINUTES made by Commissioner Frank Silvis . The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wayne Weflen. Motion passed . 5 ayes 0 nayes •COMPOSTING The commission discussed the articles on the topic of composting . It was agreed that the City should look into beginning such a program to handle the Fall leaves. Rick Wriskey, City Forester, will attend the February meeting and give additional information on pursuing such a project. PARK DEDICATION The commission reviewed the staff report for cash or LOT SUBDIVISION land dedication in regards to the minor lot subdivision on Silver Lake Road. Commissioner Silvis made a motion to accept the cash dedication of 10 percent of the appraised value of the property or $2, 800 . 00 to be • designated for use at the nearest neighborhood park. The motion was seconded by Wayne Burmeister . Motion passed . 5 ayes 0 nayes PITCHING MACHINE After reviewing the staff report regarding the LEAGUE feasibility of a 9 year old pitching machine league, the Commission directed staff to pursue the program. Wayne Burmeister made a motion to direct staff to prepare a cost analysis and detailed program outline . Commissioner David Long seconded the motion. Motion passed . 5 ayes 0 nayes
