-2- The Commission stated that all the improve- ments as outlined were needed , especially upgrading the parking lot due to the vandal- ism and heavy traffic the that Silver View • Park parking lot currently generates. Staff also indicated that there were a number of residents calling to request a bridge accross the pond, which wouldalleviate walking behind the single family homes, as well as complet- ing the trail loop.The Commission agreed that the Phase II grant for Silver View Park was a necessary improvement to the City' s park sys- tem. GREENFIELD PARK UPDATE Staff reviewed correspondence that was for- warded to the abutting property owners of Greenfield Park and indicated that the time- frame for the site was currently behind scheduled but that all of the initial ground- work and planning has been completed. Staff then reviewed the written report regarding additional bid proposals for projects that could be completed due to the favorable bid by Midwest Asphalt. The four proposed pro- jects are as follows : 1 . Additional car parking lot with concrete curb and gutter at the corner of Hillview and Quincy $2, 600 4111 2. Security lighting for tennis court and parking lot area $3 ,000 3. Horseshoe courts to be con- structed at the corner of Hillview and Quincy $8 , 000 4 . Additional trail loops based on 1 ,850 lin .ft. at $3.00/1in . ft. $5, 550 Staff further indicated that with each of the proposed modifications, we would still be within the $180 ,000 budget. Follow general discussion of the Greenfield Park plan , a motion was made by Chairperson Burmeister , seconded by Commissioner Linnell to direct staff to develop an RFP and/or work with the consultant to establish bid specifi- cations for the four additional park projects as outlined. The motion passed unanimously: 7 ayes , 0 nayes.
