Anderson 4 t i , _ctor <br /> Parks, Recreation ': q ` •, estry <br /> DATE: April 22 , 1985 <br /> RE: Establishment of Task Force for Park Funding <br /> Alternatives. <br /> As you are aware , staff broached this issue with the Park Commis- <br /> sion at last month' s meeting and was directed by the Commission <br /> to develop specific criteria as to how the task force might func- <br /> tion . <br /> Staff would perceive the task force functioning as follows: <br /> 1 . The task force would be a seven member body at a minimum; <br /> ideally it would be larger , appointed by the Mounds View City <br /> Council . <br /> 2. The task force would have representatives from each of the <br /> existing athletic assocations including but not limited to: <br /> a. Irondale Basketball Association <br /> b. Lake Region Hockey <br /> • c . Mounds View/New Brighton Soccer Association <br /> d . Mounds View Athletic Association <br /> e . Mounds View Football Association <br /> f . Adult softball <br /> g . Mounds View Wrestling Club <br /> 3. In addition to local athletic association representatives, <br /> representatives would be sought from local civic and communi- <br /> ty organizations including , but not limited to: <br /> a. Mounds View Lions Club <br /> b. Local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts troops <br /> c . Local P.T.O. and related school organizations <br /> d. Groveland Park Foundation <br /> e . North Suburban Chamber of Commerce <br /> 4. The group would meet for a period not to exceed three months. <br /> 1111 5. The task force responsibility would be as follows: <br /> a. To evaluate the City Comprehensive Parks and Open Space <br /> Plan and determine our progress to date regarding imple- <br /> mentation . <br />
