MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> 4111 STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> March 28 , 1985 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 6 : 30 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6: 40 p.m. <br /> by Vice-chairperson Frank Silvis. <br /> ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Commissioners Silvis, <br /> Weflen , Letendre , Bowman and Long. <br /> Commissioners absent : Chairperson Burmeister <br /> and Commissioner Linnell. <br /> Councilmembers present : Councilmember Quick <br /> Staff present: Parks and Recreation Director <br /> Anderson . <br /> GROVELAND PARK REQUEST <br /> FOR FUNDING The Commission modified the agenda to accomo- <br /> date the residents that were in attendance <br /> • and discussed the Groveland Park funding <br /> request first. Staff reviewed the written <br /> report outlining the Groveland Park Founda- <br /> tion request for a $2 ,500 match for their <br /> long term project of developing a creative <br /> play environment at Groveland Park. Staff <br /> indicated that there was approximately <br /> $10 ,000 available in the Neighborhood Park <br /> Planning Fund and that the project met the <br /> criteria as outlined by the Commission . <br /> Staff further outlined Groveland Park' s <br /> intent to purchase a creative play environ- <br /> ment in the spring of 1985 based on the fol- <br /> lowing : <br /> 1 . A $5 ,000 match from the City' s Neighbor- <br /> hood Park Planning Fund. <br /> 2. A matching grant of $5 ,000 from the <br /> Groveland Park Foundation . <br /> 3. An additional $2 ,500 contribution from <br /> the Groveland Park Foundation . <br /> 4 . A request to the Mounds View City Council <br /> to allocate additional funds as necessary <br /> • to complete the project. <br />
