MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> 11/1 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> October 24 , 1984 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 6 : 30 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6: 40 p.m. <br /> by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister. <br /> ROLL CALL Commissioners present : Chairperson Burmeis- <br /> ter; Commissioners Long , Bowman , Letendre . <br /> Commissioners absent: Commissioners Weflen , <br /> Silvis , and Wermager. <br /> Councilmembers present: Councilmember Doty. <br /> Staff present: Parks & Recreation Director <br /> Anderson . <br /> 1111APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Long , <br /> seconded by Commissioner Bowman to approve <br /> the September 27 , 1984 minutes as presented. <br /> The motion passes unanimously, 4 ayes 0 nays. <br /> CHAIRMEN ' S REPORT There was no report. <br /> COUNCILMEMBER' S REPORT Councilmember Doty indicated that the long <br /> term financial plan had been formally adopted <br /> by the Mounds View City Council , which out- <br /> lined an annual expenditure of $50 ,000 for <br /> park development to be allocated from the <br /> City' s interest from defeasance . Councilmem- <br /> ber Doty indicated that he felt this was a <br /> major step forward for the Parks Department <br /> and felt that it would provide a good base <br /> for future development. He also indicated <br /> that the Greenfield Park development plan <br /> language should indicate that the judicial <br /> ditches #1 and #5 are being restored to their <br /> prior condition and that no additional dred- <br /> ging or modification of the wetlands is plan- <br /> ned. <br /> FORESTRY UPDATE Staff reviewed the9YP Y s moth problem that <br /> GYPSY MOTH PROBLEM <br /> 1111 had evolved in early October . Staff indicat- <br /> ed that no egg masses were found within the <br /> City, but state and federal agricultural <br /> agents feel very strongly that gypsy moth has <br /> been introduced into our community. At this <br /> time , no spraying measures are being recom- <br /> mended by the federal <br />
